"What is the number-one
way to build my business?"
Honestly? Word of mouth. That's no surprise. - But promotional products
come in second - whether you use them at trade shows, conventions, chamber
of commerce events, or as employee gifts - promotional products are the
best way to keep you in mind of potential clients.
"What are promotional products?"
Promotional items generally are handy items used by your target market
which act as constant advertising for your company. Promotional Products
are items that have been imprinted with your company or organisation's
name, logo, phone number, and perhaps a catchy phrase.
"Why do I need promotional products?"
Every organisation will at some stage, require their logo or message placed
upon an item for a particular purposed. To give you an idea as to how
these products can help you, here are some examples of purposes and suggested
solutions:
1. For a long service gift you could give an engraved watch.
2. A golf day giveaway, you could give a cap, visor, polo shirt, t-shirt,
or towel set.
3. A staff sales award, you could give an engraved Sheaffer pen.
4. An item to hold documents at a conference, how about a printed Compendium.
5. A sales incentive, you could give a printed Thermos Flask.
6. For a useful economy item to advertise a new phone number you could
give away a fridge magnet or ruler.
"How are they used?"
In general, promotional items are given away to potential clients
at trade shows, chamber-of-commerce events, sales pitches, and company
events (to name a few). Their purpose is to introduce your company to
prospective clients by way of a handy item they may use frequently. They
may also be used as gifts, incentive items, and for resale.

"Tips on saving money on your Screen Printing"
1.Limit the number of colors you wish to print. Fewer colors
require fewer screen set-ups and less time to print additional colors
(each colours require a separate screen)
2. Limit the number of locations on the t-shirt. Additional screen and
printing charges apply if you want to add additional locations.
3. Order white or light colored t-shirts. T-shirt mills charge more for
dark colors and printing on dark shirts often require printing a white
"underlay" to avoid the dark t-shirt color bleeding through
the design.
4. The More You Buy, The More You Save! Order in large quantities and
your price per t-shirt can go down dramatically.
5. Do not compromise on quality - always order 100% cotton T-shirts.
"Is there a minimum
I need to meet to place an order?"
On non-embroidered or screen printed items there are no minimum quantity.
For embroidered and screen printed items, you must purchase 25 pieces.
(cost will vary depending on quantity)
"What is the Production Time?"
Normal production time for most products is two to three weeks. Rush service
is available. However, certain products are available at at a faster turnaround
time (noted as such on the web). A surcharge will apply for rush orders.
"What are the minimum order?"
Less than minimum quantities are available for some products. However,
prices will vary. Call our office for additional details and charges.
"What is Digitising and Embroidery?"
Digitising is a combination of artistic arrangement and computer process
that takes a design, photo, drawing etc. and converts it to an embroidery
design. That design is then programmed into our computerised machines,
to produce the desired result, an age-old process of needle and thread
called embroidery. Embroidery cost varys with stitch count "which
will increase with size of logo".
One great advantage with embroidery over screen printing is the fact that
when screen printing you pay for each additional colour, whereas in embroidery
you just pay for the coverage of the design and not each colour. You can
use 6 colors for the same price as 1 colour.
Embroidery is the process by which the logo is stitched on to the item
using digitalised machinery. The cost of this process it varies on the
amount of stitches on your logo and the quantity required. Please fax
or email a copy of your logo to receive a firm quote. Products suitable
for embroidery include Polo Shirts, T-shirts, Chambray and Business Shirts,
Caps etc.
"Who is a Digitiser?"
Most digitisers have an embroidery or graphic arts background. The process
however is still more art than science. The results of a design are determined
by the skill of the digitiser. In the hands of an inexperienced digitiser
the most advanced software and hardware can produce poor results.
There is a one time set-up fee to have your logo custom digitized . The
logo then remains in our library to be called upon by you when you need
it. This digitized logo belongs to you , we are just taking care of it.
The cost of having your logo embroidered onto your business shirts, polos,
jackets, caps or aprons is based upon the number of stitches in your logo
and the number of pieces you are having done. Please speak to our customer
service specialists (email) info@bodimasta.com.au who will be more that
happy to provide price and quantity breakdowns .
"If I have my company logo elsewhere in
embroidery, can I provide a copy for you to use and avoid the cost of
digitising?"
Most likely, yes. If your design has been embroidered elsewhere, a copy
should be available. This is easily accomplished through transfer of a
disk, or a simple e-mail. We can offer information as to how you can proceed.
"What is Screen-Printing?"
Screen-printing is a process where a design, drawing, or other format
is converted to a film, and the film is transferred to a screen. The number
of screens for any design is based on the number of colours of the design.
Inks are then transferred through the screen to the garment in a proper
order to achieve the desired result. The process involves exact pressures,
specialised inks, and heat curing to result in a long lasting design.
With screen printing you are charged for the number of colours you would
like to use.
"What is a transfer?"
Transfer technology offers vibrant full color designs and photo quality
prints that are outputted on a laser printer and then heat imprinted on
a t-shirt using a commercial heat press machine.
Transfer technology eliminates the cost of screen set-up charges. However,
depending on the quality of artwork received, artwork touch up is sometimes
required to properly set up the job. Transfer technology requires no minimum
order requirements. Be sure to send a high resolution image (300 dpi or
more) in order to get quality results.
"Can I apply a screen print or transfer to any garment
or item?"
Not always. Some items such as fleece will not work under any circumstances.
Items such tote bags or caps will readily except screen print or transfer
providing the surface is reasonably smooth. In the case of high synthetic
content items (Nylon, Rayon, blends etc.) some items can use the transfer
process while others must be directly screen-printed.
"What does it cost for screen printing?"
The cost starts with the development of your design and film cost. Complex
designs with small lines of definition do not generally pose a problem.
Keep in mind that the garment also has a colour so even a single colour
design is in fact two colours. We can also fade colors to highlight areas
of the design to keep within the one or two colour setup fee, the more
colours you choose the more it will cost. Application cost and garment
cost will also depend on the number of items ordered. T-shirt pricing
is highly competitive and changes frequently.
Screen Printing the cheapest form of printing on clothing. When considering
screen printing on clothing, please note that there are limitations in
reproducing fine detail and colour registration because we are printing
on flexible, coarse weave material. Sometimes logos must be simplified
or altered to give better registration. The cost is calculated by the
number of colours required and quantity. Setup cost applys, depending
on the number of screens.
All pricing is based on the same formula: First, is the number of screens.
Each print location and color requires its own screen. Second, is the
number of shirts. Since the set up (screens) is the same for one shirt
or 1,000 shirts, the more you print, the lower the per shirt cost. We
do have set price breaks at 10, 20, 50, 100.... The type of shirt is another
factor.
The color of the shirt is also a cost factor: White shirts are the least
expensive. Next, are dark shirts are about one dollar more than white.
There might be additional charges for graphic preparations, screen cleaning,
rush charges, state tax and a few other things.
Please call or e-mail for current pricing and a free quote.
"Once I have design how long does it take from order
to receipt of the product?"
There are so many variables it is almost impossible to quote lead times.
Here at Bodimasta Promotions your order is placed into
the production line up at the time the goods are received. The line-up
for production is based on which equipment we will use to produce your
order. Other factors to consider are the garment sources, distance from
our facility, and backorders.
It is generally a good idea to plan at least 14 working days from your
order placement to our shipping, pick up, or delivery. As always, the
more notice the better. Rush jobs are available at a slightly higher cost.
We do not "rip-off" customers in need but simply pass along
the overtime, administrative, and extra shipping costs with the order.
Again, we place orders into production on the receipt of the goods and
never on the size of the order. Small and large orders alike get the same
attention to detail.
" How is my logo put onto these items?"
There are many ways of applying your logo to an item. We will notify you
of the best way for this to be done and using the latest technology, your
logo is expertly applied to the product of your choice. For example, we
recommend embroidery for clothing, laser engraving for the metal and brass
items and printing for most of the other items like pens, clocks, watches,
coffee mugs. As you can imagine, the printing process for a coffee mug
varies, immensely from the process used for a pen or pocket knife.
"Delivery - How will my goods arrive?"
We will advise you, before we proceed with your production, of the freight
costs and the length of time that the delivery will take. For our Australian
customers, we have both road and air freight services depending on the
size and urgency of the consignment. For our overseas customers we use
both air and sea freight once again, depending upon your requirements.
For our clients we offer free delivery in the Metro area.
"Artwork"
Camera-ready artwork is any professionally prepared black and white rendering
of your logo, emblem, line art or copy. Photocopies or fax copies are
not acceptable. If you don't have camera ready art, our art department
can prepare your artwork, please email / fax or call for quotation. EPS
or VECTOR ARTWORK (PREFERRED)
Generally, artwork is supplied by the customer. The quality of the final
result depends directly on the quality of the supplied artwork. Although
we do our best to improve the quality where possible by photo processing,
this is subject to time constraints; see the last point in this (Artwork)
list.
We may be able to assist you in realising certain design ideas, and of
course advise as to what is feasible with the different methods available
to transfer your final design onto the item.
Creating designs to order may also be possible, but can be a time-consuming
process and must therefore be charged per hour. Please contact us for
more details.
Artwork is assumed to be supplied 'camera-ready' on disk (or by email),
or as a very good quality, crisp print. Excessive time required to prepare
artwork for printing, due to inadequate quality of supplied artwork, will
incur an extra charge for the time taken.
"Merchandise Consistency"
Please note that we encourage you to take the opportunity to review a
sample of the actual product before you order in bulk quantity. It is
important that you understand that these samples are representative in
nature. While we are very careful about the suppliers and manufacturers
we use, manufacturing variations are unavoidable and therefore not all
products will be perfectly identical. By choosing to place and order with
Bodimasta Promotions, you agree to reasonable manufacturing variances
such as slight variations in product material, color and packaging will
be acceptable. The most common example of this is apparel dye-lots.
